For Kaitlyn's 10th birthday, we decided to do something very small and simple and only invite her closest friends. Not too far from us is a candy store called Hey Sugar. We had never been there before, but I heard about the place and parties that they have. As soon as we walked in, I fell in love with the nostalgia throughout the store. And the employees were so incredibly nice.
For the craft (because every girls party has to have a craft), the girls decorated ceramic plates.
Then it was time for ice cream!!! Each girl got to pick their flavor of ice cream, choice of topping, whipped cream, and a cherry.
Time for presents! (When she woke up that morning, she came downstairs to new pajamas, completely new outfit, and new ankle boots)
For cupcakes (yes, in addition to the ice cream-however, the girls didn't really eat the cupcakes), my mom had sent some Hello Kitty cupcakes that she made herself. The birthday girl wanted vanilla cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes with strawberry buttercream. My mom then made fondant Hello Kitty toppers to put on some of them.
As we sang Happy Birthday, there was a little photo bomber in the background.
Each girl got to go home with their plate creation, Hello Kitty hand sanitizer, and these cake pops, also made by my mom.
